Merry Christmas Darlings!

Wishing YOU A Wonderful Holiday
 &
 A Brilliant New Year!

xoxo
Katherine

p.s.  You can stop right here...or continue to see what I have... see, I love you.  You have an easy out...xoxoxo

Oh! I dreamed of handwriting little notes of Love and such, waltzing down memory lane, hand addressing them, and picturing your faces as you opened your mail.

I really did.

I even had sweet little cards already picked out.

But when I couldn't remember what "special" box had the stamps...well, I let go of the idea of those special hand written sentiments.

However, I did not want to let this special season go by without sending YOU a heap of JOY!

2013 has been quite a year.  One I will never forget.  It has been a year of loss and gain.

I found myself experiencing things I had only dreamt of and some I never dreamed of.

It's all too much for endless words.  So how about a little photo journey to reminisce the ending of a year that stole my heart.

(you may want to refresh your coffee here...it's been QUITE a year!)

Mi Padre
This was SUCH A GREAT DAY!!!  My Pops surrounded by his high school buddies.  It was so important to him and such a blessing to have this dream come true for him...and them.
I learned the beauty in the bravery of taking a last breath.
One of the MOST BEAUTIFUL Memorials ever.  A wonderful mix that was my Father.

Though the times were challenging, especially in that 2 1/2 month period I stayed in Arizona...the bond that was created within my family was the gift for the challenge.  I feel so incredibly blessed.
Added to that blessing was even more time spent with those I love.  So blessed to see my Aunt Sandee, who came our way on her honeymoon to give her sister and I support.  So grateful for her and Glen for doing this.
I am so blessed with such a wonderful family.  I so appreciate everyone's support during our Christmas time last year.  I'm grateful to the Acosta's, The Goulding's, the Cocio's, all my beautiful cousins.

But I tell ya...I got to lighten up this card because I'm in tears now and it's only the beginning of last year.

Reflecting Autumn, Inviting Winter...

Enjoying a gentle and quiet morning this last day of the Fall season.  (I personally know Fall left a long time ago but was gratefully reminded that the Solstice approaches tomorrow!)

I LOVE A Brand New Season.  A fresh page, a blank canvas always FULL of Possibility!

As I reflect on this past season, I know it was not just any random Autumn.  This was a Life-Shifting Autumn.  This was a Launching Autumn.  I am so grateful for this.

My Courage meter is way up there...so high I don't want to look anywhere but straight ahead because if I look down I'll totally freak out about how high I have jumped.  I don't want to look up because I am so out there on a limb that I actually need to keep my focus in the very present moment.

It's an amazing time.  There is a sort of discomfort I feel in that I have no idea how I will make it this month.  That could scare me and land me...but I remind myself that this is the natural part of the Entrepreneurial Flight.  And if I can continue doing my part then I can continue to fly.  And these are new wings for me.  This a new journey, a path I have been leading towards but have never completely taken...and yet I have now!

I have, this wonderful Autumn, allowed myself to hop on a floating leaf and get carried away into my dreams.

I have indeed Launched My Destiny.

So what of this New Season?  This glorious Winter.  What of the possibilities within the next 3 or so months???

Well, Intention Wise I'd like to see my business find it's venue.  There IS a market for what I do and I'd like to find the marketplace that fits as a win/win/win for all.

That's my biggest Wish/Desire/and Hope.  With a great venue (whether it be a weekly fair or a possible storefront), I will gain the feeling of stability that will allow me to grow to a place where I can bring in Helpers.

What I work on currently is refining my vision, listening to my heart, and building my Trust Muscle!

I see a colorful world that is full of ribbons and flowers, berries, and veiling, sparkle and whimsy.

What a wonderful world to live in.

Happy Brand New Season To YOU!!!

And if you are in NYC tomorrow...come get a Solstice Hug from me at the OM GROWN HOLIDAY MARKET @ Bread & Yoga  5000 Broadway, Inwood, NYC.  Take the A Train Baby up, up, up to the end o' the line (207 St.) and head a couple blocks up and poof!  You'll be at a wonderful artisan market from a great community.  I'll be there from 2-8pm.

Here's a peek at what to expect.

T T T T T R U S T . . . xo

I've had some crazy spinning the past few months.  It seems I came back from Paris fully charged and ready to Live My Fullest right then.  No more fear.  And then I spent the next two months preparing.  And here I am now.  Launched.  Floating in the air stream, empty handed, complete leap of faith.

But in the process of that two month period I worked so hard that I started spinning.  I started slipping...physically down the stairs...more than once.  Let's just say... while trying to be as graceful as I possibly could be as I transitioned...well I wasn't completely graceful.

Anyhow, I slipped again this week....NOT down the stairs but just a little "slip up".  I misread an email and that found me NOT booked for a venue I had planned on for  today.  At first I thought..."NO!!!!" But there was nothing I could do about it.  And I was able to halt myself right there and think... "Hey!  This is SO out of my hands so I must not need to be there."

The main thing I am learning is twofold:
1. SLOW THE HECK DOWN! ;)
2. Stay in the Place of Trust.

It doesn't mean I don't feel any disappointment.  For sure I do.  The anxiousness of entrepreneurialism is ever here.  But there are things I can keep in my control and things I have zero control over.  It took a lot to take that deep breath and regroup after preparing for today's event.  I'll be there next week and that is what God has planned for me in this situation.  I must need only one day at this fair because I only get one day.

So in the "switch the switch" mode, I turned to my "Retailers".  I prepped hats to re-stock them.  That is the best choice I could make this mid-week.  And you know, the great thing about taking the deep breath, letting go of what you have no control over, and switching the switch to what you CAN do... well, that's when the Blessings begin.  That is activating your faith with action...and I fully believe, this behavior is one of things that makes God smile.

So...

I headed down to The Hat Shop in SOHO, thehatshopnyc.com, to bring a few fresh hats and what do I see?

BAM!

Katherine Carey Millinery Chapeaux right there, smack dab, in the Holiday Window in New York City!

The Tippy Topper

Berries & Cream

My heart melted a little with a squeal of delight! Here's a couple more shots of my chapeaux in her shop.

The Rose Cocktail

The Soiree Topper

I left feeling satisfied that I had done, precisely, a wonderful effort for my business.

And then I got this link:
Dreams for Sale: Meet Fay and Katherine

I was super blessed by a virtual friend I have made this past year, Rebbeca Villarreal, http://rebeccainspiresnow.com/, who featured my story in her story on following your heart.

Most of you know that while I LOVE making hats and I LOVE creating art, what I truly am most passionate about is Following Your Heart.

What a wonderful marker in my life to receive this blog post precisely at this moment.  Just another reminder from God that I am covered in blessing.  That My Current Job is to just keep going, at a reasonable pace, keep trusting, most especially during the times when I want to doubt, keep seeing the Blessings, and that's my job.

God will cover the rest.

SO...turns out today, the day I thought I was going to be doing a fair, it's dropping snow, it's cold, and I am not schlepping my Store-On-The-Go anywhere.  I'm not schlepping Myself downtown to work in someone else's store.  No, today, this snow day, I am Reflecting on the many blessings and creating more delights for next week's market that I AM BOOKED FOR!

Keep The Faith Darlings!

Efficiently Yours,

Katherine
